Good Afternoon ER Colleagues,

I hope this email finds you well and looking forward to the weekend.

Please  note that while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released updated mask guidance this week, we are unable to modify our mask policy at this time. In the guidance, the CDC advises that individuals who are fully vaccinated can safely remove their mask while outdoors except for when they are in large crowds. The CDC also continues to recommend masking in crowded settings and venues where there is a decreased ability to maintain physical distance and when in a setting with a higher percentage of unvaccinated people, including children, present. As a result, employees are to follow the mask protocol in place since the beginning of the school year. We are not able to remove our masks in front of students or colleagues just because we happen to be vaccinated.  We will revisit this topic as soon as either the CDC or Governor Cuomo modify the mask wearing policy for inside facilities with vaccinated people.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support during such unique times. As always if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
