Board Candidate Information: Important Deadlines
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Governor Cuomo has suspended the requirement that potential Board of Education candidates file petitions with resident signatures. Anyone who wishes to run for one of the two open seats on the Board, must submit a letter of intent by Monday, May 11, to the District Clerk, Kristen.Adler@erschools.org.

Biographical information and a photo must be submitted to Mrs. Adler by 5 pm Thursday, May 7 to meet printing deadlines for the Budget newsletter (see link to form below). Residents must meet the following qualifications to run for a seat on the Board:

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES

* Citizen of the United States

* Resident within the boundaries of East Rochester Union Free School District for a continuous and uninterrupted period of at least one year immediately prior to the day of election

* 18 years of age or older

* Able to read and write

* May not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding year

* May not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family

* May not be a current employee of the school district

* May not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office
