The East Rochester Union Free School District is pleased to announce Daniel Friday has been appointed as East Rochester School’s Director of Facilities at last evening’s Board of Education meeting. He will begin his new role January 4, 2021.

Prior to joining East Rochester Union Free School District, Daniel served as the Director of Facilities for the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District. During his time at North Rose-Wolcott CSD, Daniel managed the buildings and grounds operations for three campuses and ancillary buildings and served as Chairman to the District Safety Committee. He also played an integral role in the management and oversight of a $35.5 million capital improvement project including a gut renovation to the middle school.

“We are thrilled to bring Dan into our school community, as he is an experienced facilities director“ says Superintendent James Haugh. “I know he will have a positive impact on our schools and I, along with the rest of the administrative team, look forward to working with him.”

Daniel earned an Associate in Science degree in Mathematics from Monroe Community College and has served in numerous facility director roles over the past decade. He is actively involved in his local chapter of the New York State School Facilities Association and has held various roles on the Board of Directors of the Rochester Chapter of the Association for Facilities Engineering, including former president.

Daniel plans to maintain and improve the student environment throughout the East Rochester Union Free School District, in order to serve the educational experience for students and staff. “Environment affects student achievement and, in being good stewards of the assets entrusted on us by the public, we can help create spaces that promote learning and community pride, while being fiscally responsible and ensuring the district’s investments well into the future,” says Daniel. He also plans to work with staff and stakeholders to ensure East Rochester school operations routinely meet the needs of the school community.

Daniel lives in Ontario, New York with his wife, son and daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family and working on countless projects around his home, and he is happy to join the East Rochester Schools community.
