2021-22 COVID Management Plan

We will return to full, in-person learning five days a week beginning Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Attached below is our first draft of our COVID management plan for the 21-22 school year.

21-22 ER COVID Guidance (updated 3/14/22)

Monroe County Public Health Director Dr. Michael Mendoza announced that schools within Monroe County may begin utilizing the Test to Stay (TTS) strategy to allow asymptomatic students who have been exposed to COVID-19 to remain in school, beginning November 29, 2021. The purpose of the TTS strategy is to reduce the amount of time students are outside the classroom and, in turn, reduce potential learning loss.

East Rochester Schools have been working on logistics for this initiative and are currently finalizing the protocols and process to begin potential implementation of TTS. The district would work with families of quarantined students to first seek written permission and then on logistics involved with testing regiment. All students eligible for TTS testing will be afforded the opportunity to do so prior to the beginning of each school day. The rapid antigen test will be utilized by school nurses for the District's TTS purposes.

Additional detailed information will be shared with parents/guardians on a case-by-case basis, as needed.
