Congratulations to first-grade teacher Kim Burns, who was honored with a News8 Golden Apple Award in April! 

Kim was nominated for the award by substitute teacher Elaine Fitzgerald, who wrote, "As a substitute teacher, I've needed assistance with using the computer and the smartboard. Mrs. Burns graciously and patiently gives her time to come and assist me, until the problem is resolved." While nominating Mrs. Burns, Elaine also noted, "[Mrs. Burns] is admired by her colleagues and loved by her students."
