Sam Bacci is inspiring students throughout the East Rochester Union Free School District to show their generosity by donating food to the East Rochester Resource Center.
Sam, is a junior at ER High School and is working toward becoming an Eagle Scout. He decided to run a food drive during the first two full weeks of October as his Eagle Scout project. Sam says he wanted to do something for the people in his community who might be struggling, especially during the ongoing pandemic. He decided to hold a food drive at his school, since the Boy Scouts drive had been canceled earlier in the year, due to COVID-19.
He has placed boxes and flyers in a number of classrooms throughout the Jr./Sr. High School, asking for non-perishable items that could be donated. On Monday, boxes were already starting to fill up!

Sam hopes the donations from his food drive will help many families in the ER community and says he is glad the students in East Rochester are so helpful to others.
The food drive will run through October 16.
