ER welcomed veterans, active duty, and reserves to our school for a special ceremony today, in honor of Veterans' Day. The annual assembly was adapted into a video last year, due to COVID-19, and everyone involved was grateful to be able to gather in person once again this year.

Veterans and their loved ones gathered inside the HS auditorium, where they were recognized for their service. While the veterans in attendance introduced themselves, students passed out roses to the veterans able to attend the event.

Keynote speaker, Specialist Amanda Nelson, described to the students how she had wanted to serve her country since she was a little girl, and what life is like as a medic in the National Guard. Nelson, not only a member of the Army National Guard Reserve, is also the daughter of 3rd Grade Teacher Mrs. Nelson. She's helped in the front line effort of caring for COVID-19 patients, and during the Veterans' Day assembly she serenaded the room with beautiful renditions of both the "Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America."
