As winter weather continues, we want to take a moment to provide helpful reminders for families to ensure a safe and smooth experience on snow-filled school days. Snow and ice can present challenges for both walkers and drivers, and it’s important that we all prepare for winter conditions to keep our students, families, faculty and staff safe.
For Walkers:
- Please ensure your child is dressed warmly for the weather. Layered clothing, warm hats, gloves, and sturdy waterproof boots are essential to stay comfortable while walking in snowy or icy conditions.
- Remind your child to walk cautiously, avoiding slippery sidewalks and icy spots, and to stay aware of their surroundings.
For Drivers:
- Winter weather can significantly impact driving times. Please plan to give yourself extra time in the mornings to account for snow-covered roads or slower traffic.
- Before leaving, make sure your vehicle is winter-ready: check tire pressure, ensure all windows and mirrors are clear, and have snow removal equipment.
- Slow down and drive cautiously, especially in areas where snow or ice accumulation may create hazards.
For Families:
- Preparing the night before can help reduce morning stress. Please take a moment to pack school bags, lunches, and winter gear in advance to ensure a timely departure.
- Consider planning for potential delays or early dismissals due to snow and weather conditions.
- Stay connected with our school’s communication channels for any updates regarding schedule changes.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping to ensure that our school community remains safe and prepared during winter months.
