ER Alumni Athletes Inducted into Wall of Fame

East Rochester Union Free School District celebrated generations of athletic excellence and Bomber pride on Sunday, Oct. 11, as five new inductees joined the district's Athletic Wall of Fame. Congratulations to Jeni Jo (Scherer) Gallina (Class of 1996), Trey Pascazi (Class of 2012), Chris Rupert (Class of 2005), Lisa Urzetta (Class of 1992) and the 1992 East Rochester Baseball Team!
A common thread throughout the ceremony was the special experience of growing up in a small town like East Rochester. Teammates becoming found family isn't something that’s unique to ER students. What makes our district notable is how that sense of family extends beyond the grounds and into the community itself. After all, it takes a village (slash-town), and the support of our community doesn't end at graduation. It continues to shape the lives of our students well into adulthood.
"There was not a better place to grow up," Urzetta reflected, while Gallina shared how opportunities that began in ER eventually took her around the world. Rupert echoed that appreciation, telling attendees, "ER is a special place where your coaches, teachers, and members of this community are willing to help you accomplish your goals."
Although the inductees represented varied areas of Bomber athletics, their reflections shared the same sentiments: the people, relationships and memories created at ER matter just as much as the victories. That is what makes ER so special, and why Bomber pride lasts a lifetime. Congratulations to our newest inductees!
