New York State Learning Standards
Next Generation English Language Arts - The P-12 ELA standards were developed through numerous phases of public comment as well as meetings with committees of NYS educators (Special Education, Bilingual Education and English as a New Language teachers), parents, curriculum specialists, school administrators, college professors, and experts in cognitive research. There are also Standards for Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science and Technical Subjects that are specific to students in grades 6-12. The ELA standards are also broken down in the following “at a glance” charts:

Next Generation Math - The P-12 Math standards were developed in 2017 through numerous phases of public comment as well as meetings with committees consisting of NYS educators (Special Education, Bilingual Education and English as a New Language teachers), parents, curriculum specialists, school administrators, college professors, and experts in cognitive research.
Social Studies - New York State has five specific content areas for standards: History of the United States and New York, World History, Geography, Economics, and Civics, Citizenship, and Government.
NYS Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) - The standards are broken down by the follow grade levels:
1. Grades P-2
2. Grades 3-5
3. Grades 6-8
4. Grades 9-12
