How to Get Involved in our School

The East Rochester School District warmly welcomes the involvement of parents and community members. Volunteers play an important role in helping our staff and in providing real-life experiences for our students.

There are many ways to volunteer, from one-time events to a long-term commitment, such as serving on our Board of Education. When a parent, business owner, or other community member shares his or her talents and experiences during a school activity or lesson, our students benefit. Whether you're an interested parent, business owner, or district resident, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

You're encouraged to become involved with East Rochester Schools and help us enhance our students' all-around educational experience.

Attend a Meeting:

Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) also holds open meetings every month, and has many fun and meaningful ways in which you can help. To register as a PTO member, please complete the "PTO Form" below.

In addition, our ER Alumni Foundation is always looking for help in many capacities! For more information about this active and valuable organization, please click on their tab on our homepage.

Both our district-wide and school building committees also hold regular meeting throughout the school year. Please visit the tabs to the left for more information on how to become involved with those committees.

Volunteer at School:

We welcome classroom volunteers at both our elementary and junior/senior high schools. Parents and community members are invited to help students on a regular basis, or just for a specific school event. Those with specific expertise are also encouraged to present to classes! For more info on how you can help, please call the elementary school at 248-6311 or the junior/senior high school at 248-6350.

The ER Connection Program offers elementary children the opportunity
to connect with a caring adult or 10th-12th grade high school student in order to provide a positive relationship and role model. At its inception, it was an elementary program founded by the Elementary Shared Decision Making Team. Our goal is to make lasting connections and foster resilience.

Shared Decision-Making Teams:

Both schools have Shared Decision-Making Teams, which bring together teachers, staff, administrators, parents, and students to focus on school decisions and practices. For more info, call either of the schools listed above.

Please note: all potential volunteers must fill out and submit the application below, and are subject to approval. For more information contact District Clerk Kristen Adler at 248-6302 ext. 1.
