East Rochester Union Free School District was recognized by the Utica National Insurance Group for the 'School Safety Excellence Award' for 2024 Titanium with Honors level.
The honor is presented annually and recognizes school districts' safety efforts as they work to keep students, staff and visitors safe.
East Rochester officials accepted a certificate and check for $500 to use in connection with the school safety program.
Director of Facilities Daniel Friday stated, "'Our dedicated teachers, staff, and community volunteers all play a role in shaping the culture of safety at East Rochester. We are able to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our students each day thanks to their support and commitment to all of our different safety initiatives. We are honored to be a recipient of this year's award and will continue to work to move the needle forward in regards to student safety."
